I Hate People (GTA: San Andreas - The Lawsuits Begin)
So some dumb-ass grandmother is suing Rockstar Games and Take Two Interactive because she bought GTA: San Andreas for her 14-year-old grandson. Why is she suing? False advertising, consumer deception and unfair business practices (how does that make any sense?). Why is she really suing? Because it’s possible to use a third-party hack to unlock code for a secret, sexually explicit mini-game. That’s right, because it’s possible her grandson might be exposed to sexually graphic images. Can I countersue her for being a dumb cunt, disregarding the “Rated M for Mature - 17+” label on the game and buying it for her FOURTEEN YEAR OLD grandson? If she’s so slow on the uptake that she’ll buy an extremely violent game that has a rating specifically stating that it’s not for anyone younger than 17, why the hell would a rating saying “Rated AO for Adults Only - 18+” make one whit of difference? She obviously isn’t paying attention in the first place. Disregarding her own responsibility as a grandparent does not a lawsuit make. If anything, she ought to sue herself for her own incompetence as a grandparent. GTA: San Andreas has amazing, open and expansive gameplay that any consenting person over the age of 17 should be allowed to enjoy, but because this stupid, wrinkled whore can’t be bothered to read the prominent label on the game she’s buying her FOURTEEN YEAR OLD grandson, somehow she’s got the the right to sue the maker? This suit ought to be tossed immediately, but because politicians making a run for office are standing on soap boxes, I’m sure it won’t be. Jesus tapdancing Christ…she’s fine with her grandson playing this game as long as it’s only filled with extremely violent imagery and adult language, but throw some pixelated ass in the picture and suddenly it’s a federal case. Dumb-ass bitch.
Even better, the FTC is now investigating Take-Two Interactive Software Inc. In a perfect example of how our “representatives” need something better to do with their time, yesterday they “urged” the FTC to take action. They are basically trying to “determine whether Take-Two’s actions amounted to deceptive advertising.” Don’t these people have better things to do with their time? Oh, how I hate people.
